Q: Greg, thank you for joining us. Can you share a bit about your career journey from a technical field engineer to your current role as Sales and Business Development Director at Fortitude Nicsa Global?
A: Thank you for having me. I started my journey in technology as a field engineer, visiting customer sites resolving a variety of issues to now as the Sales and Business Development Director for FNG has been quite transformative. In my previous roles, I was deeply immersed in the technical aspects of resolving customer issues promptly, gaining hands-on experience in server maintenance, switch deployment, troubleshooting networking issues, and a range of other technical tasks. However, I soon realised the importance of bridging the gap between technical expertise and business strategy. This realisation led me to transition into a sales and business development role, where I could leverage my technical background to identify new opportunities and drive growth for our business. The experience I’ve gained allows me to speak to our customers and partners on a technical level which ensures that we can go above and beyond to exceed expectations with the work we deliver.
Q: How has your technical background influenced your approach to sales and business development, particularly in introducing new services to customers?
A: My technical background has been instrumental in shaping my approach to sales and business development, especially when it comes to introducing new services to customers. Having spent years in the field, I understand the pain points and challenges that customers face firsthand. This insight allows me to identify gaps in the market and tailor our offerings to address specific needs effectively.

Focus on honing your communication skills, both verbal and written, as effective communication is paramount in sales.
