Introduction

In a significant move to strengthen community support and raise awareness for domestic violence issues, Katy Upton, CEO of Fortitude Nicsa Global, has been announced as the new patron of Derby Women’s Centre. This partnership marks a pivotal moment in the centre’s mission to provide vital services to women, men, and families affected by domestic violence in the Derby area.
Derby Women’s Centre, a cornerstone of support in the community since 1978, offers a range of services including counselling, support groups, and educational programs. The centre’s work is crucial in addressing the complex issues surrounding domestic violence and providing a safe haven for those in need. One of the key services offered by the centre is their Freedom Programme – a support group that’s designed for women fleeing or who have experienced domestic abuse. Domestic abuse covers not only physical violence but psychological and financial abuse. The centre also offers counselling for men struggling with mental health and or domestic abuse.

Yasmin Nazir, Director of Derby Women's Centre, expressed her enthusiasm about the new partnership:

We are thrilled to welcome Katy Upton as our patron. Her leadership and Fortitude Nicsa Global’s support will be instrumental in amplifying our message and extending our reach to those who need us most.”

Katy Upton, CEO of Fortitude Nicsa Global, stated:

It’s an honour to be named patron of Derby Women’s Centre. The work they do is invaluable, and I’m committed to leveraging Fortitude Nicsa Global’s resources and network to shine a spotlight on their efforts. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.”

Rob White, Head of Marketing at Fortitude Nicsa Global, outlined the company's commitment:

Our partnership with Derby Women’s Centre aligns perfectly with our corporate values of community engagement and social responsibility. Domestic abuse accounts for 20% of all recorded crime in Derbyshire (1), but of course this is not the true extent of domestic abuse, with many women and men fearful to seek help. We’re dedicated to using our platform to amplify the centre’s important work and contribute to positive change in our community. It’s imperative that services and support like the one’s offered by Derby Women’s Centre are available for everyone in the Derbyshire County.”

Rob White, Head of Marketing at Fortitude Nicsa Global, outlined the company's commitment:

The collaboration between Fortitude Nicsa Global and Derby Women’s Centre represents a unique intersection of technology and social welfare, promising to bring new resources and visibility to the fight against domestic violence.
